How to Know If Your Account Was Deactivated or Deleted

There is no way to know if your Facebook account was deactivated or deleted unless someone tells you or you try to log into the account.

If your account was deactivated:

When you try to log in, you will see a message that says “Account Disabled.” This means that the person who owns the account chose to disable their account on their own and it could be recover by logging in with the same credentials used before deleting it.

If your account was deleted:

When trying to log in, the message “Sorry, this user doesn’t exist” will appear. This means that either the owner of the profile permanently deleted their account and removed it from Facebook servers.

You can recover your facebook account by following the steps below:

  • First, log in to your Facebook account.
  • Go to your settings and click on the “Account Settings” tab.
  • Select “General” from the menu on the left side of the screen.
  • Click “Manage Account” to get start with recovering your deleted Facebook account.
